Description

Job Summary

Primary responsibility for this position is to manage and maintain the IWMF donor database. Managing and maintaining our database provides leadership with the necessary information and analytics to assist with education, information and support programs, as well as all aspects of development/fundraising.

Database Management

  • Maintains database integrity by setting standards to ensure accuracy, continuity and usefulness of data.
  • Works directly with Director, Donor Engagement to develop best practices and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate and implement database design changes.
  • Maintain database performance by troubleshooting problems.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Provide staff training to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform regular database audits to ensure data integrity and quality.

Gift Processing and Donor Development

  • Daily entry and processing of all incoming gifts {online, offline and recurring) pledges and outgoing recognition.
  • Entry of all new IWMF community members into database and iWave.
  • Reconcile database using a daily/weekly report.
  • Provide support with donor acknowledgement and recognition including phone calls, emails, direct mail, etc.
  • Provide support for the annual Walk for Waldenstrom’s peer-to-peer fundraising event, Giving Tuesday, the bi-annual Giving Challenge and all other major fundraising campaigns.
  • Work with IWMF Finance Director to reconcile database revenue with Quickbooks on a monthly basis.
  • Provide reports as needed/requested to identify trends, generate and review giving histories & wealth analysis.
  • Manage Constant Contact interface with database to maintain accuracy.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date mailing lists as requested.
  • Keep development team/President & CEO informed of any new internal fundraising advances, including major gifts or pledges, stock transfers, planned giving inquiries, etc.

This job description does not imply that these are the only duties to be performed. The Development Associate will perform other tasks as may be required for the effective operation of the organization upon request of the Director, Donor Engagement.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (OR) or equivalent work experience in fundraising.
  • Able to travel annually to our Educational Forum.
  • Ability to work in-office five days per week.
  • Donor Perfect database experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Able to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others.
  • Broad base of knowledge and skills related to donor cultivation and stewardship.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • iWave Wealth Screening experience preferred.
  • Deadline and detail oriented.
  • Exhibit a high level of energy, exceptional interpersonal skills, and can-do attitude.
